Stó:lō Community Futures (SCF) requires the services of an Administrative Assistant, for a busy, non-profit Aboriginal Financial Institution, that provides programs and services to Indigenous entrepreneurs and Stó:lō Communities, for business and economic development, in S’ólh Téméxw, the Stó:lō Traditional Territory. Pursuant to Section 41 of the BC Human Rights Code, preference may be given to applicants of Aboriginal ancestry. Please self-identify on your cover letter and/or resume.
Under COVID-19 rules and guidelines, the qualified Administrative Assistant will provide administrative supports to the General Manager, both virtually and in-person. Duties would include, but is not limited to, research on programs and projects that may be aligned with specific timelines; prepare reports, emails and memos; prepare comprehensive virtual meeting minutes; communicate targeted messaging on SCF social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram) and the SCF website; and, perform other tasks, as assigned and directed by the General Manager.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Wage: $16.20 per hour, 35 hour work week
Term of Position: April 1st, 2021 to March 31st, 2022, subject to performance and a three-month probationary period

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be highly organized, flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced office environment, even in a virtual means, with an aptitude for detailed work, ability to follow verbal and written instructions, and working as a contributing team member
- Must have computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Skills with online publishing and marketing platforms preferred
- Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision and within a team environment
- Office administration and related courses preferable and/or related work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the skills to prepare reports, with the ability to establish rapport with people of all educational and occupational backgrounds
- Ability to do research on various topics assigned, and provide recommendations and results
- Skills in communicating on SCF’s social media platforms - Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Experience in website design, preferable
- Must be able to operate within set timelines/schedules
- Able to complete Action Items and follow-up, to ensure action is taken on projects assigned as assigned by the General Manager
- Must participate in ongoing activities as an integral part of the SCF Team, which could include attending meetings and events that are on and off office premises
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all records, files, materials and communications
- Record daily activities of SCF projects, programs and SCF Client information on banking and client-management systems
