Wealth Mindset:
Indigenous Financial Resilience

For over 75 years, Vancity has been working to build a clean and fair world where members and communities can thrive. That means addressing systemic barriers to ensure access to financial services and financial literacy for all.
In partnership with Stó꞉lō Community Futures and equipped with courses and tools developed by our financial experts, Stó꞉lō Community Futures is delivering culturally relevant workshops to our communities. We believe the community-based model for learning will create meaningful and safe programs that speak to the unique needs of different groups.

Stó:lō Community Futures supports Indigenous members, and those who are on their entrepreneurial journey. From Youth to Elder, businesses with heavy equipment to small craft businesses, there is a strong entrepreneurial spirit in S’ólh Téméxw and SCF is excited to support these businesses to develop and grow.

The Wealth Mindset program promotes Indigenous financial resilience and addresses the colonization and multigenerational impacts on the concepts of wealth, cultural values, and relationships with money.  The Wealth Mindset program is ideal for pre-entrepreneurs, those considering starting a business, to give them the ability to understand and apply financial management concepts to their personal finances, and to have the knowledge and confidence to make good decisions for their money.  These concepts can be carried to future business plans.
